Annual Meeting
The Chamber’s Annual Meeting is a luncheon or breakfast event held at a local venue which features a distinguished guest speaker. Attendees receive an overview of the past year and upcoming highlights from CMS Chamber Executive Director Alexandra McNitt, hear remarks from the Chair of our Board of Directors, and enjoy a three course plated meal. There are opportunities for questions and answers with our guest speaker. Prior years’ guest speakers include Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, US Congressman James McGovern, and President of the Worcester Red Sox Dr. Charles Steinberg.
Summer Outing
The Chamber's Annual Summer Outing is held in August in lieu of a Fun at Five networking event. This is our chance to get together with our Members and friends at a beautiful venue and enjoy a traditional summer clambake with all the fixin's! Beginning with a cocktail hour, the outing includes a clambake buffet with juicy steaks, mouthwatering lobsters, clam chowder, mussels, and more tantalizing tastes of summer! Held outdoors with the buffet served under a tent, a live band provides toe-tapping tunes to further enhance the evening’s atmosphere. Several of our Members invite all their employees and make the Chamber’s summer outing their company party. The Chamber draws the winners of the annual ‘Your Chance to be a Millionaire’ lottery scratch ticket raffle at the conclusion of this always enjoyable evening.
Golf Classic
Held annually in summer, the Chamber’s Golf Classic is a day of fun and friendly competition on the links at a local 18 hole championship golf course. Presented in a scramble format, the event features a continental breakfast, contests and spectacular raffle prizes, a cookout lunch and refreshments on the course, and a reception and dinner after play. Chamber Members have the opportunity to promote their businesses through tee box and corporate sponsorships. A commemorative trophy is awarded to the winning team of golfers at the dinner reception. All proceeds from the Golf Classic benefit the Chamber's Charities and Scholarships Fund.
Harvest Festival
The Annual Harvest Festival on the Sturbridge Town Common and grounds of The Publick House Historic Inn is a family fun tradition. The event includes countless local crafters, artisans, specialty food vendors and farm fresh harvests. Held each year on the weekend after Columbus Day, the event welcomes thousands and includes entertainment in the form of live music and magic shows, a diverse line-up of food trucks and The Publick House's Scarecrow Contest. Harvest Festival is sponsored by Sturbridge Tourist Association.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
A ribbon cutting ceremony is a great way to attract attention to your new business, location or remodel. The Chamber of Central Mass South presides over ribbon cuttings in our service area. We invite local dignitaries, alert the press and give your business the splash of attention it needs to get off the ground running. Contact us if we can help grow your business!
